Ray3.14: User Guide

Ray3.14 (also known as Ray3 Pi) is the latest addition to our Ray video generation model family. It brings major improvements across quality, speed, cost-efficiency, and creative control making it easier to create polished videos while iterating faster than ever.

Compared to Ray3, Ray3.14 generates up to 3× cheaper at 720p and up to 5× faster at 720p, while delivering noticeably cleaner and more consistent results.

What’s New in Ray3.14

Ray3.14 isn’t just an incremental update, it introduces meaningful improvements that impact every stage of creation:

  • Stronger style consistency, especially for illustrated styles like 2D, cartoon, and anime

  • Improved temporal coherence, keeping subjects, motion, and style consistent across frames

  • Better prompt adherence with fewer visual artifacts

  • Modify Video support up to 18 seconds

  • Seamless compatibility with existing workflows: Text-to-Video, Image-to-Video, Keyframes, and Video-to-Video

These upgrades make Ray3.14 feel more reliable, predictable, and expressive–especially for stylized and narrative content.


Video Quality Improvements

Ray3.14 delivers visible gains in output quality:

  • Cleaner generations with reduced artifacts

  • More faithful interpretation of prompts

  • Stronger adherence to visual style, particularly for illustrated aesthetics

  • Improved frame-to-frame consistency for characters, objects, and environments

The result is video that feels more intentional and cohesive from start to finish.


Supported Workflows & Video Lengths

Ray3.14 works across the full Dream Machine creation pipeline:

  • Text-to-Video: 5 or 10 seconds

  • Image-to-Video: 5 seconds

  • Modify Video: Up to 18 seconds

You can also extend videos up to ~30 seconds, making it easier to build longer sequences over time.


Performance & Technical Specs

  • Native frame rate: 24 fps

  • Supported resolutions: Draft Mode, 540p, 720p, 1080p

  • Loop support: Available at 540p, 720p, and 1080p (not available in Draft Mode)

  • Upscaling: 540p, 720p, and 1080p generations can be upscaled to 4K

Ray3.14 is designed to balance speed, quality, and cost so you can choose the resolution that best fits your creative needs.


Modify Video Details

Modify Video is fully supported in Ray3.14, with:

  • Maximum input video length of 18 seconds

  • Support for common formats such as .mp4 and .mov

  • Best results achieved with high-quality source footage

This makes Ray3.14 well-suited for transforming and refining existing video clips.


Current Limitations

At launch, Ray3.14 has a few known limitations:

  • No character consistency feature

  • Reference images are not supported

  • Cannot be used with Reframe

These constraints are important to keep in mind when planning longer or character-driven projects.
