What is Ray3?
Ray3 is an intelligent and high-fidelity video generation transformer model, designed in collaboration with creatives across film, advertising, and gaming industries. It is the first in a new series of multimodal thinking models developed to bring intelligence into creative workflows.
Ray3 is the world’s first multimodal reasoning system that can think in visuals and concepts, and judge its own outputs. It is also the world’s first model to natively generate video in 10-, 12-, and 16-bit High Dynamic Range (HDR) EXR, making it suitable for high-end production pipelines. Alongside this, Ray3 introduces Draft Mode, enabling rapid exploration and iteration at unprecedented speed.
Ray3 is currently available to all subscribers.
Ray3 New Features
HDR
Ray3 is the first generative model capable of producing High Dynamic Range video natively in professional bit depth formats (10, 12, and 16-bit EXR). It can also convert Standard Dynamic Range videos, whether generated in Dream Machine or uploaded from outside sources, into HDR.
HDR provides flexibility for post production by enabling exposure adjustments, richer color grading, and rendering videos that look exceptionally vibrant on modern devices. Ray3 also allows you to download HDR outputs in EXR format, making it possible to bring generative video directly into professional pipelines.
To activate HDR Mode, select HDR on the Dynamic Range dropdown in the settings panel:
Reasoning
Reasoning is what makes Ray3 uniquely powerful. The model can think deeply about prompts, understand intent, and plan sophisticated event sequences. This enables more accurate physics, more coherent stories, and better preservation of identities.
With reasoning, users can also guide outputs through visual annotations, producing complex scenes and more compelling motion sequences with fewer hallucinations or morphing artifacts.
To activate Reasoning Mode, select the Ray3 Reasoning model in the settings panel:
Draft Mode
Draft Mode is Ray3’s rapid iteration workflow. It generates results up to [20x] faster, allowing artists to quickly explore variations and enter a true state of flow. Once you find the right shot, you can then “master” it into a high detail, 4K HDR version without changing identities, motion, or composition.
This is powered by Ray3’s Hi Fi diffusion technique, which layers in fine details and reaches full fidelity.
