As a High-Performance Computing engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of hardware and software, designing systems that deliver the maximum possible performance for running large-scale AI models. We work at the very cutting edge of speed and scale, combining the traditions of High-Performance Computing (HPC) in a modern cloud environment.

For this role, it’s important you understand how to combine CPU’s, GPU’s, and network devices into systems that are then deployed at a large scale to peak efficiency. You understand the lowest levels of the software platforms that sit on top of this hardware, including how to best optimize the Linux kernel and user-space code. You are capable of writing code to automate the monitoring and healing of these systems, commanding a large number of servers with few people.

Experience

8+ years experience as infrastructure engineer or Devops in large and complex distributed systems.

Deep understanding of networking, bonus points for experience in HPC networking.

Experience developing high-quality software in a general-purpose programming language, preferably including Python.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience with GPUs in large scale clusters is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of observability and monitoring in distributed systems.

Tenacious at troubleshooting hardware and network topology failures in distributed systemsIndependently driven and able to own problems and build solutions from end-to-end.

Luma is looking for a Technical Artist to join our Applied team. Luma’s Applied team takes our underlying foundation models and makes them production ready, including fine-tuning, implementing controllability & editing features and testing new research opportunities for data enhancement. We’re looking for an extremely talented technical artist to work identify improvements to our models and work with data and research teams to implement. Technical Artists will be responsible for developing workflow pipelines, and fine-tuning & QA’ing our production models, ensuring Luma’s products are the best on earth.

Successful candidates here will merge an exceptional detail orientation, drive for model improvement and eye for aesthetics. Candidates may have worked with fine-tuning or AI art creation as a hobby. They’ve spent large amounts of time working with video and/or image models, and can clearly identify and come up with ideas to solve problems with different models. They are also able to differentiate good and bad aesthetics, and precisely articulate those choices using standard artistic language.

There is some engineering required - strong candidates will have a background as an engineer and be comfortable with python.

The SRE role at Luma AI sits with the Infrastructure and Research teams and is responsible for our GPU clusters. Luma runs on '000s of H100 GPUs across multiple providers and clusters for Training, Data Processing and Inference. We need a highly skilled SRE to ensure those clusters are healthy and to build the monitoring and management tools we need to make full use of them. Successful candidates will want to get extremely in the weeds solving performance and maintenance problems in our clusters.

Data is the critical foundation of our products, and we are looking for individuals who can identify creative approaches to data and captioning and then implement solutions for processing at PB scale.
